For the fifth time, Aliantedizioni has won the Good Design Award conferred every year by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
For 2016, the GDA has been given to Fungus Borealis designed by Alessandro Loschiavo and Marco Paiani.
Designers: Alessandro Loschiavo and Marco Paiani, Alessandro Loschiavo Design, Milan (MI), Italy
Manufacturer: Aliantedizioni, Milan (MI), Italy
Series of three side-tables inspired by the Armillaria Borealis, species of fungi typical of cold climates. The removable bases in transparent solid acrylic are matched to circular tops of three sizes in translucent scratch-resistant acrylic.
The structures are mounted without needing any extraneous element thanks to an interlocking system with minimum tolerances. Contrary to what happened in the past, the acrylics used in these articles are recyclable thanks to a chemical process which allows the production of new objects.
